Tusse at the farm

In the deep forest a troll lived. His name was Tusse. He lived with his mom and dad under a grey stone. Tusse did not have a room of his own. He sleept on the kitchen sofa with his cat Nisse.
Tusse’s mom and dad loved to eat worm-soup, which Tusse did not liked at all. He wished his dad would make apple-pie and his mom would make cinnamon-buns instead.  Tusse’s biggest dream was to eat something tasty.

Therefore, Tusse decided to fulfill his dream. He was going to find apple-pies and cinnamon-buns. He packed his blue bag and left at night. He walked towards the light inthe sky. Suddenly, Tusse heard a strange noice ”Muuu”. At the same time he saw a red building. He walked towards the building but stayed outside. “Muuu” he heard again.

”Who are you” he asked.
”My name is Rosa and I am a cow” said Rosa.
“Where am I?” said Tusse.
“You are on a farm” said Rosa.
”Can I find apple-pie and cinnamon-buns here?”said Tusse.
“Yes, in the other house over there” said Rosa.
She pointed towards a large white house.
"
Would you show me?" Said Tusse.
Together, they walked to the window at the house. They looked through the window and saw both apple-pie and cinnamon-buns on the table. Tusse climbed through the window and packed his bag full of treats. Soon, he was on the outside again and they started to walk. They heard a shout from the house.
“Where is my apple-pie and cinnamon-buns!”
They hurried to the field and there they sat the rest of the day eating apple-pie and cinnamion-buns.
At night, Tusse missed his mom and dad. He decided to walk home. He said goodbye to Rosa and walked back to the deep forest. He walked towards the darkest place in the sky.

Technology in School makes the Internet safer

Our society is depending on technology. You can hardly get a job if you can’t handle a computer. Our homes and workplaces are surrounded by technology. Still, our schools can’t provide our future leaders and workers with acceptable education and equipment for developing their technology awareness. We do everything by computers, but our pupils still use pencil and pen to create handwritten books. I will argue that we have to bring in technology in Primary education.

Children that are having problems with hand movement have a clear advantage if they can write on a computer. Then they can focus on the producing of words and text instead of hand movements. This will give the pupil the possibility to produce richer and deeper texts.

Writing on a computer gives the writer the possibility to edit the text easier. The writer doesn’t need to erase and write over and over again by hand. Writing on computers makes it possible to edit more often and make the text more accurate. The pupils will produce texts with better quality than before.

Even if the school doesn’t provide pupils with technology, they will still have it at home. Then we have to ask ourselves this question; Is there someone at home providing the child with knowledge and conversations about the Internet? School can give all children knowledge about how to handle information and sources on the Internet and also stress the danger about giving out personal information. This will provide general knowledge and awareness of how to use the Internet in a safer way.

The conclusion is that we can give our children the possibility to produce richer texts with higher quality. This also makes it possible for more children to write even if they haven’t developed their hand movements yet. The use of Internet in school also makes it possible to take control over the dangerous situations that the Internet can bring.

Assignment 1: Letter to parents

Dear Mr & Mrs Bolm

I am writing to you regarding your son. Michael who is a good and well behaved student has suddenly started to show changes in behavior and performance in school. I have tried to find out what had happened but he will not share it with me.

Since I have not been able to reach you I will now try to contact you via a letter. I hope we can start a dialogue about this and help Michael back on track.

I am going to observe the pupils during the breaks to find out if there are any problems. I would like to ask you to do the same at home. I would also like you to talk Michael to find out if he has any problems in school.

I would like us to meet next week together with Michael. I will make him prepared for what we will talk about. It is very important that we show Michael that we do this to help him.

I suggest that we meet at Thursday at three o’clock. If you can not participate at this day or time, please let me know and I will find us another suitable time.

Best Regards

English

This is now an English blog during my English course. I will put out assignments here for written proficiency. They are of course fiction and not real letters.
