Children that are having problems with hand movement have a clear advantage if they can write on a computer. Then they can focus on the producing of words and text instead of hand movements. This will give the pupil the possibility to produce richer and deeper texts.
Writing on a computer gives the writer the possibility to edit the text easier. The writer doesn’t need to erase and write over and over again by hand. Writing on computers makes it possible to edit more often and make the text more accurate. The pupils will produce texts with better quality than before.
Even if the school doesn’t provide pupils with technology, they will still have it at home. Then we have to ask ourselves this question; Is there someone at home providing the child with knowledge and conversations about the Internet? School can give all children knowledge about how to handle information and sources on the Internet and also stress the danger about giving out personal information. This will provide general knowledge and awareness of how to use the Internet in a safer way.
The conclusion is that we can give our children the possibility to produce richer texts with higher quality. This also makes it possible for more children to write even if they haven’t developed their hand movements yet. The use of Internet in school also makes it possible to take control over the dangerous situations that the Internet can bring.
